Grandpapa's Arithmetic ( Terrific Math Story for Place Value and other math processes)

This is a WONDERFUL story for teaching many processes in Arithmetic, written in 1868 by a french man named Jean Mace.  I used it to teach 2nd graders place value a couple of years ago.  It contains lovely images that help a child understand mathematical processes and thinking, and has a fantastic progression.  Take a look and see for yourself. (He was not a Waldorf teacher, but might as well have been!)
